Difficult to have it working properly |
The Tungsten W is a missed chanche. Im currently using it with two italian GPRS provider (Vodafone Italia and Telecom Italia Mobile). The point is that the device often looses the settings or hangs providing these error messages: 1 - PPP time out 2 - unable to resolve the xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx adress (albeit an IP number, instead of the domain, has been provided 3 - no GPRS subscription (when the subscription is "up and running"The only workaround is, as ususal, turn off the device (open and close the SIM card docket), then reboot. I didnt find any hint on the Palm knowledge base. I cant believe that Palm is unable to fix these problems that make a very useful device an unrealiable tool.

A huge disappointment |
So what was I hoping for? A Palm product that finally combined a PDA with a mobile phone. The concept is great but the execution just doesnt work. So what are the issues? Well the key problem is that the only way to make/receive a call is through the "hand free" earpiece. This is hugely inconvenient. What do you do - keep the earpiece attached in case a call comes in or take it off and fumble for it every time you need it. Im with O2 but the W is only certified for Vodaphone networks. None of the information on my sim is available so I have to enter everything again and Ive been unable to delete SMS messages so they get downloaded over and over. Furthermore, the quality of sound through the earpiece is dreadful. Im constantly finding new things about the phone features that irritate me.The PDA is great in other ways but you can save yourself a huge amount of money and get the same PDA functionality. The W is let down by its key feature - the wireless capability. What a shame. I shall be returning mine.

wow brilliant for first fone |
this phone is a little gem. as a first buy for a mobile phone you will not find a better one and a low price aswell. its a very stylish and small and very similar to other flip phones on the market but at a way way cheaper price its flip conceals the keypad so there is no problem of ever phoneing someone without realising its in your pocket ringing the ringtones are ok i suppose but being able to download them helps to personalise them to your tastes.i recommened this phone to anyone
