This is THE way to get to the top of search engines. There are so many tools in this product, its hard to know where to start, but the book is an excellent companion to the software. One thing worth thinking about is whether you are going to create doorway pages. This is one of the things that WebPosition is brilliant at - but Search Engines are beginning to spot doorway pages - and they dont like it. Other than that, all I can say on SE) is that you need two things - the software and this book - Buy it and sail to the top of those search pages!

A very dissapointing book

I have enjoyed some of the Deitels early programming books, however, not this one. It takes a very simplistic view of the development of ecommerce applications; the authors seem to think that all that you need to do is hack up some Javascript and HTML and there you are: no mention of integration, design, legacy code, performance analysis, distributed objects, transaction monitors, reuse and network programming. Some small parts of the book are good, for example the security sections; however, the impression one gains is that all you need do to develop an effective site is use Micrsoft technology. Stay clear.
