Sonic Is Back And Better Than Ever!
Our favourite little hedgehog is back with his friends. The game has excellent game play and 14 levels each with 3 stages. There is a choice of 4 teams, team sonic, which consists of, Sonic, Tails, and Knuckles, team dark which consists of, E-123 Omega, Shadow, and Rouge, team chaotix, which consists of, Espio, Vector, and Bee, and team rose which consists of, Amy, Big Cat and Cream, each with there own difficulty level. The game is on PS2, Game Cube, and X-Box.It is an anizing game and well worth its money. Everyone should have the game even if they are not a sonic fan. The best game ever, buy it!!!!

seriously fun
Im not even a fan of this type of game, im an RPG fan but i cant bring myself to put this game down! So fun!

Its true what the reviews say, this game can have some really annoying camera angles sometimes, but theyre not bad enough to put you off the game at all.

Personally, i usually play games to follow the story and to see whats going to happen next as well as for the enjoyment. But with Sonic Heroes, im just playing it for fun, and this game is the ultimate fun. The levels are quite big, nicely coloured and very, very fast.

With 14 different levels for 4 teams this game has plenty to do (thats 14 individual levels PER team - 56 levels). On top of these levels there are challenges to do on each level after you have completed it such as finish the level in a certain time or destroying certain numbers of enemies. There are also bonus special levels to hunt down emeralds if you get to the end of some levels with the special level key and the boss levels are not counted in the main 14 (even though theyre just as long).

The 2 player mode is also seriously fun. At the moment i only have 1 mode available in 2 player, action race where 2 players race down a level to get to the end first, some great fast-paced action. But theres loads of 2 player modes i have yet to unlock in story mode which im sure will be just as fun. It appears that all of the 2 player modes are head to head events but im still hoping there is a co-operative mode where you can both go through story mode together.

The only 2 downsides to this game are the annoying camera angles (at times) and the sometimes dodgy controls (the reason why its loosing one star).

Overall, i would recommend that you buy this game, as long as youre not looking for a deep and detailed story.

Same old problems...............................
Fiddly controls and occasional camera problems. Exactly the same problems as the other 3-d Sonic games.

I would rate this three stars, were it not for the voiceover for Big the Cat, which makes playing with Rose Team pretty excruciating. Even amongst the chirpy American voices the duh-duh-I-am so-stupid-la-la-la-hur-hur-hur approach sticks out as immensely irritating, if not somewhat offensive. And unlike the Dreamcast games, there is no option to change the language to the original Japanese cast.

Despite this its a pretty good platformer, but Sonic doesnt translate terribly well into three dimensions and these other flaws just kick it when its down.

If you want to play a Sonic game Id recommend Sonic Advance 2 for the Gameboy, which as they would say on gamezville is both retro and old school, my friend.

Overall, it feels a bit rushed, its a pity that Sonic Team didnt, spend more time on this, or better yet make a sequel to Nights into Dreams, or a 2-D Sonic for next-gen consoles, it might not sell as well as this, but it would be a bloody good game.
