An invaluable handbook

This book has been around a while, but the subject matter doesnt go out of date, so it is still extremely useful. The patterns are clear, although you will probably need to make minor changes unless you happen to be the exact size of the person for whom the historical garments were made! The only oddity is that they are drawn to a scale of 1:9, but the range of garments covered, together with photos of the actual garments in many cases, make this book an essential addition to your collection. Complete beginners should ask for advice from someone with some experience, but if I can manage to make my first historical costumes from these patterns, anyone can!
