What a dissapointment! Im afraid this book waffles around the subject, 80% of the content being about generalised communication with all animals, with the remaining 20% dog related matter all very much long established dog sense, with no surprises. Although I never expected to end up as Doctor Dolittle, there was nothing in this book that futhered my understanding of dog behavior or "language" A case of barking up the wrong tree (sorry)

not relevant, deeply disappointing

If , like myself, you are a dog owner wanting to learn about dog behaviour- do not waste money on this book. It is full of promisingly titled chapters that fail to deliver. There is far too much detail about any and every other species that communicates within its species; that any one who watches discovery already knows. Most chaapters wander through vagueness about some other animal or some anecedote to come to the end with no concrete statement or conclusion.This leaves the reader with that feeling of "Yes, and?" and ? how has the writer even vaguely addressed the chapter title with relevance to the dog or even made any statement about dog behaviour. A feeling of wandering through someones random thoughts of animal behaviour which fail to produce any helpful information to potential or existing dog owners- I could have written better myself.

Helps you to understand your dog better

This book for me was both fun to read; laughter, and opened my eyes to alot of things my dogs do! It has helped me learn the why of many behavior patterns and gives you help in solving them by your self! Personally I think everyone should read this book who has a dog, to make the connection stronger between the two.. dog and owner! In my eyes, this book was just what I needed to get a closer an even closer bond with my dogs! Happy reading!!
