THE book on perfume |
|
I think this the ultimate book on perfume! The lay out is beautiful and seductive. The stories are absorbing. The history of every major house is told and the process of perfume-making is clarified in great detail. Wonderful photos. One of the best things about this book is the section in the back. This contains the location of the head office/flag store of every house and a list of all the perfumes they released. This is definately a must have!!!

Perfumes, our Friends |
|
This is a book I keep on my bedside table and which I have also given to friends as presents. The book is my friend too. Susan Irvine invites the reader into the heart and soul of each perfume she describes, classifying them into their genealogic groups (Floral, Fruity, Herbaceous, Chypre, Oriental)and discussing their history, their composition and their bottles. Each glossy page has delightful photos of the perfumes. If you are wanting to learn more about perfumes - either the ones you already love or the ones you wish to discover - this book is for you. You will be transported into the fantastic world of fragrance. The author is objective and clearly aware of the beauty each and every perfume has. Top marks.

A very useful guide for one who is interested in perfumes |

The Perfume Guide is one of the best books I have. Susan Irvine describes every known perfume with every detail and interesting stories about their creation. The notes of each perfume are given as also the manufacturer, the perfumer and the launch date. If you are fascinated of the grat world of perfumes this book is for you. Trust me
