What Controller?

When you first look at a Gamecube controller youll probably think it looks stupid, when you first use it youll most likely find it uncomfortable. After about 10 minutes play, youll forget youre even holding a controller! The Gamecube controller is, in my experience, the best one for current consoles. The shape moulds into your hands perfectly, meaning you can concentrate on whatever game youre playing. The button placement is the best Ive seen, all buttons and sticks are in easy reach, although theres nothing wrong with the PS2 controller in this department; the Xbox on the other hand... The buttons also have a good solid feel to them, and are nice and chunky compared to the fragile face buttons of the PS2, although the start button is perhaps a little small, it wouldnt have hurt to make it a bit bigger. Also the cable is very short, and should have a quick release system like the Xbox, although the Wavebird sorts this out if youre willing to shell out £35. The built-in rumble is used to great effect, especially on games like SSBM where it is used on a very subtle level, which adds a whole new dimension to gameplay. Overall the Gamecube controller is the best Ive seen, I havent used the Xbox Controller S, but I very much doubt it can be as good as this.

The Perfect Controller?

The Gamecube , The PS2 and The X-Box everybody knows what there favourite console is but i dont think anyone can argue with the best controller , it is without a doubt the Gamecubes one . A shape that fits perfectly in your hands , easy to reach buttons in all situations , pressure senseative shoulder buttons , a camera stick which allows you to view all the perfect graphics around , a center button which does all of ther main features in a game and a perfect 3d stick which allows for total gaming bliss . If you thought it couldnt get any better than that , think again , for all of the older gamers out there like myself who have decided that purple is not really the colour for then , well then theres a slick looking black colour to keep all gaming fans happy .

THE Controller

From passed experience, with the N64, Nintendos controllers have always impressed me aswell as many gaming fans! The Gamecube controller prolongs that trend of impressiveness with a tough little beauty that fits right into the sweaty little palms of your hands. The controller itself looks a little odd at first glance, but start playing, and you know why it was made in that way. Unlike the PS2 and Xbox controllers where similar buttons are all the same size, the gamecube controller has a larger button for A rather than B due to the extra importance of the A button in most games - such as firing a gun. The bigger the button, the easier it is to find and use! The control sticks have been ammended since the N64 as there is no crator leading down to the base of the stick, instead, the actual control stick arises from a bigger ball acting as the base - this gives the two control sticks a meatier feel, and also prevents dirt from entering the controller! The most impressive aspect of the controller is the introduction of digital-clicks for the L and R shoulder buttons - this allows for many extra functions to be operated by these two pressure responsive buttons. A colourful, ergonomic design that promotes ease of use and functionality. Amazing!!
