The cheapest CDRs around at the moment |
I spent a very long time trying to find cheap CDRs and tried various other online retailers known for low prices (and sometimes dubious quality goods). I couldnt beat these Benq CDRs for 18-and-a-bit pence each - and when bought with another item, Super Saver Delivery brings the price down to 15p each. No doubt these CDRs would be sniffed at by anyone who takes their choice of media too seriously. For our uses, they are brilliant... archiving, backing up, or general short and long term storage. We have now written another ten to fifteen CDs in two different CD Writers (including the cheapest Lite-On drive from Amazon) with no problems at all. Im not entirely sure what speed were writing at through XPs built-in burning utility, but its certainly not far off the 48x mark. A great buy - pick some up before everyone catches on ;)

Bargain Basement CD-R |
|
These cds are brilliant, I have had a zero failure rate at many different write speeds up to 48x. They only cost 15 quid for 100 what a bargain. Only one problem they dont come on a spindle as advertised, so dont throw away the old spindle you got wih your other spindle packs.

Good value despite some errors |
|
These cds are great value for moneuy, but I have come across some errors while writing the cds at the Max rated 48x. Two of the first fifteen I have written to at this speed reported back errors when trying to read the data off them. My advice is to write to these cds at a max of 32x and to be honest your not going to see much of an increase in time taken writing at this slower speed. If you wish to make master copies of your really vital data, I would buy a more well known brand. All in all, for your day to day use like the transfering of data from one machine to another, these are a good buy.
