Mixed blessing |
|
This book is good in many ways. It gives much information that is badly needed by traumatic brain injury (TBI) victims and their families. It is becomming very dated though. My brain injury is not listed. I would be in the severe category according to the book but I am told the my head injury was in the very severe category. I was in a coma for 7 weeks. Severe brain injury became subdivided after the book was written. Severe is currently classified as coma lasting between 48 hours and 2 weeks. Very Severe is classified as coma lasting 2 week plus. I would have like some information about the more extreme forms of TBI. However, this book does bring together much of the information that is sadly lacking. There isnt even much else that can be gained by reading the professional medical journals (Im a critical care staff nurse).

Easy to understand |
An excellent book which has helped our organisation to provide training around head injuries. The language it uses make it suitable for families and professionals alike.
