Very disappointing! When I purchased this book I was looking for an explaination of my rights and legal recourse. What I got with this book was an scolding, by the authors. Their advice was to stop being a deadbeat and pay my bills. The only advice that was offered in this book was what had already been given to me by the credit bureau. Basically, this book says to pay all charges on your credit report then wait seven years for it to roll off. Much better credit repair books are written by Bob Hammond. In his books you find many legal options and remedies to repairing your credit. It puts you on much more even playing field. Most consumer credit companies violate many laws when persuing what they believe is a missed payment. Bobs books give you leverage when dealing with these companies.

Easy to read, eye opening for the uninitiated, not a how to.

This book is very good for people that do not work in the fields of credit/accounting/banking, etc. Much of what it had to say I already knew, but I guess I can therefore say I agree with it. It tells you why YOU should repair your own credit and not pay someone else to do it. It tells you WHY you should do it. It gives a good bibliography.... but it does NOT tell you HOW to do it. Thats really what I was looking for. I liked it well enough to buy his other book, Life After Debt, which is advertised as a how-to. Ill get back to you.

Great Book! Mr. Hammonds Techniques have helped us.

Recently my wife discovered negative entries in her credit report. She sent letters and documentation, but it was of no help. The entries remained. I bought Mr. Hammonds guide as a last resort. I followed his advice, and to our surprise, my wifes negative entries have been deleted. Mr. Hammonds techniques have cleared the way for us to get our first home.
